Formed in February 2003, our partners, counsel and several members of our professional staff have practiced intellectual property law together for a number of years, first with Majestic, Parsons, Siebert and Hsue P.C. and then with Skjerven Morrill LLP in San Francisco. Each of our attorneys and patent agents has an undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical field: electrical engineering, chemical engineering, physics or materials science. This allows the professionals of the firm to represent clients in matters involving complicated areas of science and engineering. We work with individual clients to formulate and execute appropriate legal strategies based upon a good understanding of the client’s technology, product lines and competitive environment.

The firm concentrates on providing strategic intellectual property representation to its clients, working with clients to protect and utilize their intellectual property rights in furtherance of their business objectives. This includes formulating a coherent strategy for securing protection with an appropriate breadth and depth, in view of each client’s specific needs, procuring and maintaining the intellectual property and harnessing the value of the intellectual property to generate revenue and protect the client’s business.

Our services include procuring and maintaining patents and trademark registrations, both in the United States and in other countries around the world, and representing our clients in contested matters before patent and trademark offices, including re-examinations, oppositions and interferences.

Our client counseling includes the evaluation of offensive and defensive positions of clients, including providing advice and formal opinions concerning the validity, enforceability and infringement of specific patents and trademark registrations.

The firm has achieved the highest rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is listed in its Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers 2005.
